Mrs. Nina Yang is Ascendas-Singbridge’s Chief Executive Officer for Sustainable Urban Development (SUD). In this role, Nina is responsible for the Group’s urbanization platform and oversees the Group’s investment in large scale urban development projects in partnership with the local governments in China, India and other territories.
Some of SUD’s more prominent investment includes the Guangzhou Knowledge City in Guangdong, PRC; the Chengdu Hi-tech Innovation Park in Sichuan, PRC; and the Amaravati City Start-Up Area in Andhra Pradesh, India.
Nina has more than 25 years of experience in urban planning and building design. Prior to joining Ascendas-Singbridge, Nina was the Executive Director with CPG Consultants Pte Ltd, a leading multi-disciplinary company in Singapore providing building and infrastructure consultancy services. Nina was involved in the organization’s transformation from a government department to a privatized entity. Her experience straddled both the private and public sectors, local and overseas. Aside from designing the various public buildings and infrastructure projects, Nina also spearheaded the foray into the design of International Schools in UAE. In Singapore, she is also recognized for her work in the domain of water sensitive design in projects with strong environmental emphasis.
In the arena of urban development, Nina has followed through the various waves of urban growth in China. She was stationed in China for two years to set up offices in Shanghai and Suzhou. She was the key driver of the urban planning group that spearheaded the provision of urban solutions to cities in China, India, Vietnam and Myanmar. She led a consortium to assist the Myanmar government in the economic positioning, master planning and investment promotion of the Kyauk Phyu Deep Sea Port and Special Economic Zone. And she is now leading the ASB Group’s portfolio investment in Sustainable Urban Development.
Nina graduated from Harvard University with a Master in Design Studies in Real Estate Finance and Urban Development in 1998. She also holds a Bachelor of Architecture (Honors) Degree and a Bachelor of Arts Degree from the National University of Singapore.
Jonathan Yap is the Group Chief Financial Officer (CFO), overseeing the finance, corporate strategy and development functions of the Group. He was Chief Investment Officer and Head of Real Estate Funds, both roles which he performed since the formation of Ascendas-Singbridge and before his appointment as Group CFO in September 2017.
Mr Yap was CEO, India from 2010 to 2015, CEO, India Funds from 2007 to 2014 and CEO, India Operations from 2004 to 2007. During which, he led the listing of the award-winning Ascendas India Trust on the Singapore Exchange. He was also Assistant Group CEO for Overseas Funds & India of Ascendas Pte Ltd from 2012 to 2015.
Prior to joining Ascendas, Mr Yap was with the Australian Securities Exchange-listed Lend Lease Corporation from 1997 to 2004. He last held the concurrent positions of Investment Director of its Asia business, and Deputy Fund Manager of Asia Pacific Investment Companies I and II. During his term, he was based in Singapore and Australia, and had regional investment, asset and development management roles. From 1992 to 1997, Mr Yap was with Tan Chong Realty (the real estate arm of Hong Kong Stock Exchange-listed Tan Chong Group) and Inland Revenue Authority of Singapore, having held positions in asset management, property development and valuation.
Mr Charles Chan is the China CEO of Ascendas-Singbridge Group. He is responsible for developing and managing Ascendas’ property portfolio in China and formulating the overall China strategy. This includes developing new products and opening new markets in cities across China.
Mr Chan has many years of experience working for large corporations including those in the real estate and financial sectors. Prior to joining Ascendas-Singbridge, Mr Chan was the Executive Director of Shui On Development Limited. He spearheaded various projects such as Knowledge and Innovation Community in Shanghai and Dalian Tiandi. He also founded two successful incubators, Innospring in US and Innospace in Shanghai.
Before joining Shui On, Mr Chan was the Deputy Managing Director of the Hong Kong listed Vision Century Corporation (subsequently known as Frasers Property (China) Limited). In the early years of his career, he held key positions in SunCorp Technologies, Citibank N.A. and PricewaterhouseCoopers.
Mr Chan holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of Sydney, Australia. He also attended the Advanced Management Development Program in Real Estate from the Harvard Graduate School of Design. He is a fellow of the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants, an associate of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia and a member of the US Urban Land Institute.
Mr Ng Kok Siong is currently the Executive Vice President of Ascendas-Singbridge Group (South China) and the General Manager of Ascendas OneHub GKC, overseeing the South China operations and the investment, development, asset management, sale and leasing of the 600,000 sq m mixed development Ascendas OneHub GKC.
Mr Ng has over 20 years of real estate experience in investment, development, asset management and real estate consultancy in Asia Pacific region, particularly in China. He was the Executive Vice President for Asset Management under the Pacific Star Group, an international real estate fund management company based in Singapore.Prior to joining Pacific Star, he spent eight years in China and was the Managing Director for Ottomen Group of Companies. Ottomen Group is a diversified China-based company with real estate investment, development and consultancy activities in major cities in China. He was also the Executive Director for Cushman & Wakefield PREMAS, and the Regional Director for a subsidiary under CapitaLand Group in China. His earlier experience in Singapore included Head Commercial Property Division of Singapore MRT Ltd. Over the last 10 years, he has been involved in the investment, development, sale, consultancy, asset management and mall management for more than 30 over landmark projects in over 10 cities across China, Hong Kong and other countries in the Asia Pacific region.
Mr Simon XIE is the Deputy CEO, Corporate Development of Sino-Singapore Guangzhou Knowledge City Investment and Development Co., Ltd.
Simon has 25 years of working experience in the property industry. He had worked at several senior positions for several established companies in China. He was previously the Regional Director and GM of Henderson Land Group and Surbana Corporation in China. He has strong expertise and experience in full cycle of development from planning and design till completion and handover. Simon holds a Bachelor of Architecture from Tsinghua University and a MBA from the National University of Singapore and the University of Texas at Austin. He is also a Certified International Project Manager from the American Academy of Project Management.
Dr Tan Jok Tin has more than 40 years of experience in management and operation ranging from strategic & corporate management, innovation & product creation, engineering & project management, manufacturing & supply chain, international collaborations, mergers & acquisitions，urban investment & development to corporate governance and business management. Dr Tan is currently Senior Advisor of China Aerospace and CLC Group. He was CEO and Managing Director of Sang Fei Communications Co., Ltd, a China state-owned enterprise (SOE) and subsidiary of China Electronics Corporation (CEC) from 2005 to 2013 and thereafter as Senior Advisor till 2015. During his appointment with Sang Fei, Dr Tan led the successful acquisition of Royal Philips Electronics’ global mobile phones business in 2007 and among others, assisted CEC in various business acquisitions and the establishment of joint venture company with Royal Philips in professional lighting. Under his leadership, Sang Fei became a founding member of the global Wireless Power consortium in 2008 in establishing the international standard for wireless charging. He was board member of SED Electronics Group in Shenzhen and served on board of companies in China/ Hong Kong, Turkey, Russia and Singapore.
Prior to joining China SOE, Dr Tan had a distinguished 27-year career at Royal Philips Electronics in leadership roles for Professional Products and Systems, Telecommunication and Data Systems, Defence and Control Systems, Business Electronics and Consumer Electronics divisions. His appointments with Royal Philips Electronics included Corporate Vice President, Chief Technology Officer and Member of Global Management Team, as well as Regional CEO and General Manager responsible for various businesses in the Asia Pacific region. Dr Tan was also responsible for the implementation of various large-scale infrastructure projects which involved air traffic control and airport terminals, road & rail systems, telecommunication networks, commercial complexes and hospitals in China, India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Japan, South Korea, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore and other countries within ASEAN. One of Dr Tan’s major contributions was his lead in a multi-national consortium in the successful acquisition and implementation of an S$200 million project to build the world’s first Electronic Road Pricing System for Singapore.
Dr Tan is a Chartered Engineer and Fellow of the Institution of Engineering and Technology (UK); Senior Member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (USA); Fellow of Chartered Institute of Marketing (UK); PhD Mentor & Supervisor, Independent Director of Advanced Systems Automation Limited and Member of Singapore Institute of Directors and Business China. He attended the Mastering Trade Policy Program at Harvard University, Kennedy School of Government and has a Doctorate degree from Brunel University, MSc degree from University of Salford and MBA degree from University of Strathclyde.
Mr Ong Beng Lee is Senior Vice President and Head, Group Strategic Relations. He is mainly responsible for overseeing government relations management in the Ascendas-Singbridge (ASB) Group. Mr Ong is also Supervisor of the Sino-Singapore Jilin Food Zone Development and Management Co. Ltd.
Prior to joining ASB in January 2016, Mr Ong was with the Singapore Administrative Service for more than 25 years. He has held senior positions in several ministries, including the Ministry of Trade and Industry, Ministry of Home Affairs, Ministry of Defence，Ministry of National Development (MND) and the Ministry of Communications and Information (MCI). From 2001 to 2006, Mr Ong was Director, Housing Division in MND, where he worked closely with the Housing and Development Board to review, formulate and implement Singapore’s public housing policies. From 2007 to 2013, Mr Ong was Senior Director, Tianjin Eco-city (TEC) Project Office in MND, where he was responsible for formulating our policies and strategies for the TEC project, working with relevant government agencies to inject “Singapore DNA” into the TEC and overseeing its smooth implementation. Mr Ong’s last position before joining Ascendas-Singbridge was Director, Information Policy Division in MCI.
Mr Ong was awarded the Overseas Merit Scholarship (Open) by the Public Service Commission in 1985 and graduated from Oxford University with a Bachelor of Arts (Philosophy, Politics and Economics), Second Class Honours (Upper Division) in 1988. He attended the Programme for Management Development in Harvard Business School in 2001. He was conferred the Public Administration Medal (Silver) and the Long Service Medal by the President of the Republic of Singapore in 2005 and 2013 respectively.
Mr Chen Changxin is currently the General Manager of Knowledge City （Guangzhou）Investment Group Co., Ltd, and the CEO of Sino-Singapore Guangzhou Knowledge City Investment and Development Co., Ltd, which is the master developer of Sino-Singapore Guangzhou Knowledge City.
Mr Chen’s career experience spans a broad range of functions including production, technology and operations management, business management and human resource management for a number of government and private enterprises.
Mr Chen holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical) from South China University of Technology, China, a Master of Business Management from Jinan University, China, and several qualifications from national certification authorities in engineering, economics and human resource management. Mr Chen also received education in Hong Kong University and Tsinghua University, China.
Mr. Yang Hongxiao is currently Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Knowledge City (Guangzhou) Investment Group Co., Ltd. He was formerly Secretary of Party Working Committee of Sub-district Office of the East Zone, Deputy Secretary of Political and Judiciary Commission under Nansha District Party Committee, and Director for Ethnic Division of Guangzhou Ethnic and Religious Affairs Bureau. He has rich experience in managing ethnic, religious and administrative matters. His research accomplishments on Chinese modern history and urban development are abundant, including a number of papers and articles published on academic and public journals, and 2 academic works co-authored by him. He is in close contact with local government offices and state-owned enterprises, and is very familiar with the relevant laws and regulations.
Mr. Yang graduated from Sichuan University. He took advanced studies in Guangdong University of Foreign and the University of Maryland, U.S. He’s a Master’s Degree holder.
Ms Huang Fang is the Deputy CEO, Corporate Service and Director of Sino-Singapore Guangzhou Knowledge City Investment and Development Co., Ltd.
Ms. Huang Fang has rich experience in state-owned enterprise management and capital operation. In over 20 years of her career in state-owned enterprises, Ms. Huang has held positions in multiple departments, including Administrative Management, Legal Management and Investment Management. As one of the KMPs of Knowledge City (Guangzhou) Investment Group Co., Ltd, Ms. Huang concurrently holds the position of Assistant General Manager and Manager of Development Planning Department, responsible for overseeing the group’s core business matters including project investment, assets management, cooperation with foreign companies and legal affairs. She took a leading role in the investment and setting-up of many of the group’s major projects, such as the commercial network of Guangzhou Development District (GDD). She took charge of the group’s property rentals, as well as operations and disposals of fixed assets. She also acted as Corporate Consultant in many Fortune 500 Companies that the group had invested in. In addition, she participated in the group’s business negotiations, reviewed important legal documents, and handled internal as well as external legal affairs.
Ms. Huang holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Law from Xiangtan University, with a minor in Economics. She is a certified lawyer, and has a state-level qualification as an Economist. She has been awarded the honorable title of Outstanding Worker of GDD on many occasions, and was elected as a Deputy to the First People’s Congress of Luogang District, Guangzhou.
Ms. Gu Dan Ni is currently Director and Deputy Chief Accountant of Knowledge City (Guangzhou) Investment Group Co., Ltd. She is also the Chairman of Guangzhou Knowledge City Investment and Development Co., Ltd. Ms. Gu has rich experience in financial management, auditing, and foreign-enterprise management.
Ms. Gu used to worked as Chief Financial Officer in Guangzhou Delsun Steel Structure Co., Ltd. She used to participate in dealing with financial and tax matters in relation to the restructuring of Total (China) Investment Co. Ltd., as well as finical management and tax advices of its subsidiaries invested.
Ms. Gu graduated in the major of Auditing, and holds professional qualifications for Accountant and Auditor.
Ms. Xiong Aidong is currently Director and Deputy General Manager of Guangzhou Knowledge City Investment and Development Co., Ltd.
She has over 20 years’ working experience in businesses including construction engineering, consulting and real estate development. She used to hold cost-management positions in real estate companies, including Guangdong Hopson Development Holdings Ltd., Kaisa Group (Shenzhen) Co., Ltd and Shenzhen Logan Real Estate Co., Ltd. She has rich experience in overall management of development and construction for real estate projects, especially in the field of cost-management.
Ms. Xiong graduated from South China University of Technology with a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, and holds a professional title of Senior Engineer.
Mr Jiang Hua is currently Professor, PhD Supervisor, Chief Expert of Master's Degree Program for Land Resources Management, and Director of Land Economics and Management Research Centre in School of Economics and Management of South China Agricultural University. Concurrently he holds social positions including Legislative Consultant of the Standing Committee of People's Congress of Guangdong Province, Consultation Expert for Decision-making of Guangzhou Municipal Government, Member of the Expert Group of Guangdong Economic Structural Reform Committee.
Prof. Jiang is also Independent Director of a listed company, Guangzhou Hengyun Enterprise Group Co., Ltd. His participation in Hengyun’s development planning, operating income distribution and corporate management reform has brought positive impacts to the company, and has effectively protected the interests of the shareholders.
Prof. Jiang studied in Department of Agricultural Economics at Agricultural University of Southwest, and in School of Economics and Management at South China Agricultural University. He was a senior visiting scholar to Cranfield University, UK. Professor Jiang holds a Ph.D. Degree in Management.
Mr. Tan used to be Supervisor of Sino-Singapore Guangzhou Knowledge City Investment and Development Co., Ltd between 2011 and 2014. He used to be Independent Director in companies including Midea Holding Co., Ltd, Zhuhai Huafa Co., Ltd, COSCO Shipping Co., Ltd, Yihua Real Estate Co., Ltd, and Sundiro Holding Co., Ltd, etc. He mainly engaged in research on accounting theory, capital market and corporate governance, financial analysis and enterprise evaluation, value of entrepreneurs, etc. . He took a leading role or participated in over 10 research subjects sponsored by National Natural Science Foundation, National Social Science Fund, Ministry of Education, Ministry of Finance and National Audit Office. He used to direct corporate financial management and accounting, and has rich experiences in fields including venture investment, management and financial consulting, accounting, auditing and investment analysis, corporate restructuring and stock issuance, analysis of stock market investment, etc..
Mr. Tan graduated from Renmin University of China. He is a Ph.D. degree holder and a Chinese Certified Public Accountant. He was once Party Secretary and Assistant Dean of Business School of Sun Yat-Sen University.
